The Late Late Show
The most exciting gig so far … THE LATE LATE SHOW! Líadan are thrilled to have been chosen as one of the acts for this season’s Late Late show. They performed live on the show on Friday, 19th October 2007. Keep an eye on Líadan’s myspace page (www.myspace.com/liadanmusic) to see this performance.

Áras an Uachtaráin
The girls were delighted to have been invited by the president of Ireland, Mary McAleese, to perform at Áras an Uachtaráin in October. Present at the occasion were the King and Queen of Belgium. The President met the Líadan members at a performance at Gleann Cholm Cille in July 2005 and has been a fan of their music ever since.

SEPTEMBER 2007

Japanese Tour
The band has recently returned from a very successful trip to Japan. This is their second time this year in Japan and the highlight of the trip was when they played to a roaring crowd of 15,000 people at a festival in Kyoto.

Up for the Match
The Limerick contingent of the band were ecstatic that Líadan were chosen to play on ‘Up for the Match’ in the run up to the All-Ireland hurling final between Limerick and Kilkenny! AUGUST 2007

EBU Folk Festival
Líadan represented Ireland at this year’s EBU Folk Festival, which took place in Cork city. Composer Dave Flynn was commissioned to write a piece for the band and the performance of his piece, called Ó Riada’s Vision, along with some of Líadan’s own music, was broadcast live on Radio 1, Lyric FM, and various European radio stations. Milwaukee Irish Fest
Líadan was one of the headline acts to play at this year’s Milwaukee Irish Festival in August 2007. One of the festival highlights was when Líadan joined Cherish the Ladies on the Aer Lingus stage as part of their 20 year reunion gig. Check it out on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pplCFXb887w. Plans are already in motion for an American tour in 2008.

January 2007

Chieftains Tour:
We are delighted to announce that we will be joining The Chieftains for their annual American tour starting in January 2007. The first leg of the tour will last three weeks and will include performances in … The second leg of the tour will begin on the 24th of February in … , culminating with a performance in Carnegie Hall on the 17th of March. TV Appearance on Árdán:
We will also be performing on the show Árdán on TG4 on Sunday 14th January. The show starts at 8.30 pm and will also feature top class musicians Matt Cranitch and Brendán Ó Beaglaoich.

Debut Album Launch:
Líadan’s long-awaited debut album was launched in The Village, Wexford Street on the 23rd of September. The night was a roaring success and it was definitely worth the wait!. Máire Bhreathnach launched the CD for us before the tunes and songs began. The fabulous audience, electric atmosphere and the ensuing madness made it a night to remember! Thanks a million to everyone who came out to support us. We promise the next album won’t take us half as long! Click here to see some photos from the night.
